Do I need a referral?

You do not need a referral to see a psychologist. However, to be eligible to obtain Medicare rebates your GP will need to refer you under a Mental Health Care Plan.

Is there any Medicare rebate?

To be eligible to obtain Medicare rebates you will need a current Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP). Under a MHCP referral from your GP, a Medicare rebate of $96.65 per session is available for up to 10 sessions per calendar year (1 January to 31 December).

How do I claim the Medicare rebate?

You do not have to do anything; we automatically process your Medicare rebate ($96.65) at the end of each session.

What is the cost of an appointment?

Fees are based on a standard 50 minute session. Payment is required in full on the day of your appointment.

What can I expect at my first appointment?

At your first appointment, I will spend time actively listening, asking questions and collaborating with you on a goal for therapy. I will ask you about what is currently occurring in your life right now, what has occurred in the past and how you would like things to look differently in the future. Your first session typically involves a number of questions to get to know you and consider the best approach for you. This is also a chance for you to get to know your psychologist too, so feel free to ask questions.

Prior to your appointment, you will receive an online form to complete and return via email. You will be asked for your contact information, Medicare card number, credit card details and series of questions regarding symptoms you may or may not be experiencing. Please allow 5-10 minutes to complete the intake form.
